LUMOS Tablet Pro After 7 Days: My Honest Verdict

Frankly speaking, when I first learned about the LUMOS Tablet Pro, the product caught my attention right away. 18GB RAM, 10.1” Full HD+ screen display, dual 4G SIM slot capability, 128GB storage space, all starting from only RM798 – it is hard not to be amazed by how perfect the specifications look since the device costs less than half of what it usually would. Suffice to say that I could not resist getting my hands on the device and checking its capabilities for myself before sharing my impressions with you.

So, now a week has elapsed and I have been using the LUMOS Tablet Pro for both my professional and personal purposes, it’s finally time to share my honest views on this device. And if you are a student, a regular traveler, or anyone who wants to have an additional reliable device without investing too much money into it then this review will come in handy for you!

Sleek, Slim, and Unexpectedly Light – My First Impressions

The first feature that strikes me in this new device out of the box is its rather lightweight build that weighs only 490g which is definitely less than many tablets of the same category. And I find it convenient enough to pack it in my bag each day before going to work. Another thing that really surprised me is the very minimalistic design of this tablet.

Crystal Clear and Actually Vivid Display

The 10.1″ IPS screen with the full HD+ resolution is definitely one of my favorite features of this tablet. So, I decided to give it a try by playing some YouTube channels I watch regularly and the colors were bright and vibrant even taking into account the affordable price range of

If you use your tablet to stream shows, scroll through photos or watch vlogs (like I do), this screen won’t disappoint.

Performance: 18 GB RAM For True Multitasking

And it is at this stage where I started to be impressed with the LUMOS Tablet Pro. Since I personally like opening ten tabs on my web browser, one application for note taking, and one application to stream videos, I was surprised to see how a budget tablet would handle it. Nonetheless, it was handled well.

Thanks to its 18 GB RAM capacity, I was able to switch between applications smoothly and with zero lag time. Be it for work or for play, it operates as smoothly as I expect it to be. With its 128 GB of internal memory, I did not need to delete my old photos and videos in order to free up space.

Dual 4G SIM Slots: A Genuine Game-Changer for Travelers

Being an active businessman and tourist, the double 4G SIM slot has turned out to be very helpful to me. Instead of making use of the inconsistent Wi-Fi service offered in the coffee shop or exhausting the valuable cellular data on my cell phone, I just have to insert the local SIM card to connect to the Internet.

This is a kind of a facility that we realize its significance only once we get it. As a student who regularly travels to and fro from college to home, or as an adventurer who hops from one city to another, having 4G access via my tablet is quite convenient.

Sufficient Battery Life That Lasted Me Through a Full Day

According to LUMOS, this device can provide up to 8 hours of charge, and it lived up to the statement because the device worked for me throughout an entire day without any need for charging for that period. If you hate having to carry around your charger everywhere, you won’t have to worry about that problem anymore when using this device. I’d still keep a charger with me though to feel secure about my life.

Mirror Casting – The Bigger Screen Makes a Difference

The one feature that I did not anticipate using as often as I do is the ability to cast the mirror to a bigger screen. This was done wirelessly once at night and it worked perfectly fine while presenting and playing games on the big screen. It is a feature that makes this tablet quite versatile. It’s like a mini PC to my smart TV.

Turning It Into a Mini Laptop For Extra RM99

Below is one feature that I was quite excited to experiment with. At just RM99 more, the LUMOS Tablet Pro can be upgraded to work as a mini-laptop pack with the inclusion of a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, stylus pen, and even a case cover. With all those accessories being priced at over RM250, this seemed like a really good offer indeed.

I experimented with this package doing some routine Microsoft Office related stuff and found the tablet to cope quite decently while typing e-mails and doing other productive tasks. While the device is not meant to take the place of a regular laptop, it definitely provides a flavor of a mini-laptop to students and travelers on the go.

Is the LUMOS Tablet Pro Worth It?

And after a week of using it, I can honestly say that the LUMOS Tablet Pro is a lot better than what you’ll get out of its asking price. Now it may not be trying to pass itself off as a high-end flag-ship tablet, but for just RM798, it fulfills practically all the requirements needed in order to make your daily activities easier; including a beautiful screen, good multi-tasking capabilities, great battery life, dual-SIM capability and even the ability to be transformed into a mini-laptop if needed.

It’s also important to note that LUMOS is not a new name in the market. Their first release, LUMOS Tablet got them thousands of positive 5-star reviews.

If you are a student looking for a good tool for taking notes, researching and even watching some movies on Netflix once in a while, or a traveler who needs to stay in touch with all your friends via Internet but does not want to spend money on expensive devices, then LUMOS Tablet Pro should definitely go onto your list of candidates.

If you are interested in buying such a product, you can order it directly from the official website of LUMOS Projector, namely https://www.lumosprojector.my/tabletpro. The only thing that I would like to remind you of is that right now they only ship their product to Malaysia and it comes with a 1-year local warranty, meaning that any problems you can easily contact their dedicated support team at [email protected] will be covered by it.

This is my unbiased verdict about this product after testing it for 7 days. What do you think about it?
