The following are five cafes in Bukit Jalil for laptop usage. Except for Scoby café, all the others offer Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi speed may vary, as well as plug point availability and the operating times of these cafés. Therefore, contact the café beforehand if you want to work there for a long time.
If you are after brunch spots rather than a workspace, browse our favourite cafes around Bukit Jalil, or head a little further for these cafes in nearby Taman Desa.
Here’s a quick look at the Bukit Jalil cafes on this list:
1. Far Coffee Bukit Jalil

Far Coffee is most likely going to be the most relaxing coffee shop on this list to spend a few hours in. The cafe has lots of space, high ceilings, lots of natural light, air-conditioning and warm wooden counters. A “quiet atmosphere” is what reviewers mention most, and one visitor came for lunch and ended up spending the afternoon working there since it was quiet and not crowded. The Wi-Fi is work-friendly too.
However, the menu is not limited to coffee, as there are dishes for brunch, like the English breakfast platter and a Norwegian salmon sandwich. The tarts are also praised by many guests. The cafe operates within the Pusat Perdagangan Bandar zone, which provides a wide choice of eating places and street parking.

2. Afloat Coffee Roaster

Afloat is a micro-roaster cafe on the second level of Arked Esplanad and one of the most photographed cafes in Bukit Jalil. It has an atmosphere described as “calm and minimal” thanks to its terracotta-tiled facade, light wooden furniture and minimalistic interior. Afloat roasts its own coffee beans, which are the primary selling point of the place along with the gelato and bagels.
The place has Wi-Fi, and many visitors bring their laptops and spend an entire morning at this coffee shop. However, there are two drawbacks to using it as your working venue: the music might get a little loud sometimes, and space is limited, so weekday mornings are the best time to work here.

3. Tsutaya Books & Ivy Tokyo Cafe (Pavilion Bukit Jalil)

Tsutaya Books is a Japanese lifestyle bookshop with a cafe named “Ivy Tokyo” built in among the bookshelves. It has been described as “an absolute haven for book lovers” owing to its wooden interior, wall-to-wall bookshelves and relaxing reading corners. It is regarded as one of the most tranquil places to work in Bukit Jalil, and it is a popular spot for studying.
The cafe offers Japanese beverages as well as some Japanese snacks, including pancakes. Pavilion Bukit Jalil provides free Wi-Fi throughout the mall, though there are very few power sockets, so make sure your laptop battery is charged. Since this cafe is within the mall, you get a lot more than usual, including basement parking, LRT connectivity through Awan Besar Station with shuttle buses, and opening hours until 10 pm.

4. Scoby Cafe

Being the first kombucha place in Malaysia, Scoby has become one of the most adored cafes in Bukit Jalil, with an arty décor, lots of greenery, curtains made from natural materials, vintage posters and old-style tables. Customers say that “it was so relaxing there.” Food, in fact, plays an important role in the place. It offers dishes like salmon ochazuke, crab pasta, salted egg popcorn chicken and their special kombucha drinks, plus desserts including matcha and black sesame cream pie and even a huge tiramisu.
Scoby is a good place for working on the computer thanks to its comfortable chairs and peaceful setting. The only thing we couldn’t verify is Wi-Fi, so ask the staff before choosing your seat. It is also very pet-friendly, so you should expect some dogs there.

5. The Sugar Bar

The Sugar Bar is a bakery café located on the upper ground floor of The Link 2. Baking takes place in its open baking kitchen, where the cakes are baked. Cinnamon rolls and old-fashioned butter cake are recommended, and pan mee is also served in case you want a meal.
The Wi-Fi is good, and the cafe is relatively quieter compared to the big cafes around, making it a good place to have an afternoon of coffee and cake.
