1. Bunglow37

Bunglow37 bangsar restaurant

I highly recommend Bunglow37 for a fantastic dining experience in a quaint and tastefully furnished setting. They offer both Western and Asian cuisine at affordable prices, and their alfresco dining area provides a fantastic view of the Bangsar skyline. The establishment also has a function space that can accommodate up to 150 guests, along with ample dedicated parking and a convenient shuttle service from Bangsar LRT.

Bunglow37 bangsar restaurant

My experience at Bunglow37 was amazing! I made a reservation and even arranged for a surprise cake through a phone call. The staff members were incredibly polite and helpful. We ordered seafood pasta and chicken Alfredo pasta, both of which were delicious. The food, along with the ambiance, exceeded our expectations. When I texted them about the cake, they promptly brought it out and even sang for the occasion. They also kindly provided complimentary drinks. I would rate my experience 4 out of 5.

The restaurant has an elegant vibe that I truly love. The service is top-notch, and the staff provided excellent food recommendations. The taste and essence of the food were outstanding. I particularly appreciated the exceptional service from the waitstaff, especially the leader. He knew exactly how to provide a good service and appeared to genuinely enjoy his work, which made a positive impact on us. It was a sweet and memorable birthday celebration dinner.

Bunglow37 is a beautiful place with a great ambiance and impeccable service. It’s perfect for special occasions and celebrations. We ordered a 3-course set menu and an à la carte pizza. The complimentary bread was a nice touch, and they even split the soup from the course into two bowls for us. The lamb dish was perfectly cooked, with the meat sliding off the bone effortlessly.

The cocktails were also delightful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Daiquiri. The only minor uncertainty was with the chicken satay pizza, as it had a taste reminiscent of peanut butter. Nevertheless, it was an overall pleasant experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bunglow37.

2. Table9

Table9 bangsar restaurant

At Table9, I had a delightful dining experience with great food and reasonable lunch prices. The pizza, in particular, is highly recommended. The coffee was also enjoyable, although it would have been better if served in a smaller cup to prevent it from cooling down quickly due to the larger surface area. Despite my initial low expectations, I was truly impressed with the quality of the food. The risotto was sinfully delicious, and the chicken dish was equally satisfying. The portions were generous, but the flavors were so good that finishing the meal was not an issue.

Table9 english breakfast

In my opinion, Table9 excels in their Western cuisine compared to their Korean offerings. It is a popular spot, yet not overwhelmingly crowded, which adds to its pleasant ambiance. During our visit, we ordered the risotto, carbonara, and chicken dishes. The service was attentive and fast, ensuring that we had a smooth dining experience. The food itself was hearty and packed with delightful flavors.

Table9 chicken wing

The crew at Table9 was attentive, and the food was served promptly. It was a great dining experience overall. The only minor drawback was a slight musty smell in the air, likely due to some dried items and knick-knacks displayed for sale in the restaurant. However, this did not significantly impact our enjoyment of the food. The dishes were tasty, and I highly recommend trying their open sandwiches.

variety dishes at Table9

If you’re looking for a satisfying lunch, Table9 offers a set lunch from 12-3pm. This set includes four choices of drinks and a menu with five to six options, starting from RM19.90. With such extensive choices, I would definitely return to explore more of their food and drink offerings. Table9 is conveniently located next to MyBurgerLab Bangsar, on the same row as Hong Leong Bank/VCR.

3. Yeast Bistronomy

Yeast Bistronomy bangsar restaurant

I recently discovered Yeast Bistronomy, a delightful place in Bangsar for brunch. The staff was friendly and helpful, although I did have to remind them twice about my coffee order. They offer a tempting array of pastries and bread, and their menu includes options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with some vegetarian choices available too.

Situated in the bustling area of Jalan Telawi, Bistronomy is a French restaurant near Kuala Lumpur that captivated me during my breakfast visit. The cuisine showcases French flavors and ingredients, such as their delicious Ratatouille. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for each dish. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who seeks a taste of culinary delights from different countries.

My first experience at Yeast Bistronomy left a lasting impression. The restaurant’s location in the vibrant area of Jalan Telawi adds to its charm. The food was exceptionally good, and the service was impeccable. The portion sizes were also quite generous. I’m already looking forward to returning and exploring more of their delectable offerings.

The eggs Benedict at Yeast Bistronomy were simply to die for! The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, complemented by the delicious cured salmon. It was truly an amazing combination. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mini lamb sliders with mint sauce, and the pesto sandwich was cooked to perfection. This place is highly recommended for a delightful dinner or gathering.

Yeast Bistronomy is a popular cafe/restaurant I discovered in Bangsar. The food, particularly the pastries and croissants, was awesome. The garlic bread was also a tasty treat. The service was prompt, and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The ambiance and relaxing atmosphere added to the overall dining experience. We are definitely planning to visit again in the near future.

4. El Mesón, Bangsar

ambiance at El Mesón, Bangsar restaurant

I absolutely love El Mesón in Bangsar! The service is always friendly, and their sangria is truly amazing. It’s safe to say that their paella is our favorite in KL. What sets this place apart is the chef’s willingness to make changes to dishes, and the waiters who are incredibly attentive and helpful. The nachos were great, and we particularly enjoyed the prawn tapas with the option of wholemeal bread. The staff was attentive, pleasant, and even provided plain water. We also got to enjoy a refreshing Kilkenny beer.

nachos from El Mesón, Bangsar

In terms of the food, it exceeded our expectations with flavors that were above average. However, during my visit at 2pm, the overall preparation duration took a bit longer than anticipated. Despite that, the overall dining experience was good.

meat plate at El Mesón, Bangsar restaurant

Our dining experience at El Mesón was nothing short of incredible. We couldn’t find a single fault with any of the dishes. Some were good, while others were simply exceptional.

Let’s start with the tapas. The garlic and chili prawns were delightfully fresh, and the chili with wine sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the bread. The grilled Iberico lagrimas were tender, and the Thai sauce that came with it was incredibly flavorful. We also enjoyed the simple, light, and crunchy calamari fritos.

meat paella El Mesón, Bangsar

Moving on to the mains, the pork burger was everything we expected it to be – perfect. The meat was cooked to perfection, and all the ingredients were fresh. It was perfectly seasoned, showcasing how simplicity can be done exceptionally well. Another highlight was the spaghetti albondigas. The sauce had a fresh taste of tomatoes throughout, striking a perfect balance that wasn’t too heavy or too light. The albondigas, or meatballs, were great with a superb consistency.

gambas al ajillo from El Mesón, Bangsar

Lastly, we must mention how delicious the pork ribs and pulled pork nachos were. The sides offered were also good!

El Mesón truly offers a delightful dining experience with friendly and attentive service, incredible sangria, and mouthwatering dishes. It’s a place I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal.

5. Maria's SteakCafe Bangsar

Maria's SteakCafe Bangsar restaurant

My dining experience at Maria’s SteakCafe in Bangsar was truly delightful. We had quite a feast, ordering dishes like roast lamb, lamb baby cuts, Argentinian strip loin, Hereford grass-fed steak, black pepper chicken, and seafood aglio olio. However, the highlight of the meal was definitely the roast lamb. It had a wonderful milky lamb taste that was simply outstanding. This was our first time trying their steaks, and we were impressed. The only letdown was the flat-tasting mashed potatoes. Nevertheless, the service staff was attentive and prompt, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant itself exuded a cozy atmosphere, setting the stage for an exquisite dinner experience. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and both the entrées and mains were thoroughly enjoyed by our group. While Maria’s SteakCafe falls into the pricey dining category, it’s definitely worth the splurge if you’re looking for a special treat.

I had the pleasure of spending a lovely evening with two of my close work colleagues at Maria’s SteakCafe. The restaurant is conveniently located near the bustling restaurant and shopping district of Bangsar.

As a British individual, I found the Fish and Chips to be more than acceptable, although it’s hard to replicate the same level of perfection as in the UK. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their steaks and spaghetti dishes. And let me tell you, the tiramisu at Maria’s SteakCafe was the best I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur so far.

lobster salad from Maria's SteakCafe Bangsar

The staff provided excellent service, promptly refilling our water glasses and ensuring a smooth dining experience. The service itself was quick, and the prices were reasonable considering the quality of food served. The prices for alcohol were standard for the area.

Parking in front of the restaurant seemed a bit problematic, but a helpful tip would be to consider parking at Bangsar Village Mall and taking a short walk to the restaurant.

Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at Maria’s SteakCafe and I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again in the future.

6. Nutmeg

ambiance in Nutmeg

The customer service at Nutmeg is truly excellent! The waiters are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. The host adds a cheerful touch to the experience with his jokes. The food served here, along with the portion sizes, is just perfect for the price. The simple interior decor complements the rustic and flavorful dishes, creating an overall enjoyable dining experience. It’s also a fantastic spot for brunch!

breakfast set at Nutmeg

One dish that stood out for me was the Salt Beef, which is quite a rare find. The selection of cakes and pastries is abundant, and the three cakes we tried were all delightful bites.

egg benedict from Nutmeg

Keep in mind that dinnertime can get crowded, especially on public holidays when it seems to be a firm favorite among the BV2 crowd. I highly recommend making reservations to ensure a seamless dining experience. Nutmeg truly excels in serving meat dishes, particularly their oven-baked specialties.

chocolate cake from Nutmeg bangsar restaurant

I absolutely loved the Lamb Moussaka—it was tender and the crispy bread paired perfectly with it. The delicious salads, pasta dishes, and sandwiches were a delight, and the wide variety of cakes and tarts were simply to die for! The service at Nutmeg is top-notch, with attentive staff who know their job well. It’s a testament to a great restaurant or cafe when it’s always full of satisfied customers. I highly encourage you to give Nutmeg a try—you won’t regret it.

7. The Daily Grind Bangsar

potatoes and chicken at The Daily Grind Bangsar

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at The Daily Grind in Bangsar for dinner on a couple of occasions. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food never disappoints. This time, I decided to go for the chicken burger, and I had no complaints. The bun was soft, the patty was juicy, and the side salad was refreshingly fresh. Compared to other restaurants in Bangsar Village, The Daily Grind was less packed, creating a more relaxed dining atmosphere.

beef salad from The Daily Grind Bangsar restaurant

What I truly love about this place is the cozy and dim ambiance it offers. Every dish I tried was rich and crispy, and it was evident that the patties were handmade and well-seasoned. Each bite was a burst of juiciness and flavor. The mini corn dogs served as an appetizer were a delightful treat, and we decided to try something different by opting for the Irish potato nacho. The menu at The Daily Grind is perfect whether you’re nursing a hangover or craving a satisfying southern-style meal for dinner.

chicken waffle from The Daily Grind Bangsar

The portions were generous, and we ended up having leftovers to take home. Although the patty in the juicy bluesy burger was slightly more cooked than I requested, it still retained its juiciness and paired beautifully with the mushrooms and blue cheese. The habibi salad was simply delicious, and I couldn’t resist wanting to purchase the crispy chickpeas as a daily snack. My companion had the Camembert burger and thoroughly enjoyed it, describing it as great.

strawberry pancake at The Daily Grind Bangsar

The waffles we ordered were perfectly done, crispy on the outside. However, I would have preferred plain dark chocolate waffles instead of the slightly sweetened version. The beef brisket was an absolute delight, incredibly soft and tender. It was served with a poached egg and a touch of chimichurri sauce. The sauce was just right, but my friend’s Smothered Steak resembled more of a stew, and we felt that the mushroom sauce should have been served separately. Another order at our table was the Eggs & Avo, which came with sourdough bread. And of course, we couldn’t resist sharing a dessert—strawberry waffles. It was sinfully overloaded with cream and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream.

The service at The Daily Grind was great, and we had an enjoyable lunch. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that left us satisfied and looking forward to our next visit.

8. ROOST

window by ROOST restaurant in bangsar

ROOST offers a variety of must-try dishes including the white corn, grilled cabbage, eggplant, beef sliders, prawn toast, and fish. This place is truly underrated as the food is absolutely AMAZING. The flavors are incredibly TASTY and INNOVATIVE, while still maintaining a refreshing simplicity. There’s no pretentiousness in their food, and they even cater to vegetarians and are willing to accommodate special requests for allergens and dietary requirements.

grilled chicken from ROOST bangsar restaurant

When it comes to enjoying quality farm-to-fork cuisine, ROOST is the place to be. Their commitment to sourcing fresh and high-quality produce is evident in the exceptional taste of their dishes. I can’t stop raving about the Goulburn Valley ribeye steak, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The golden pomfret and king oyster mushrooms also delighted my taste buds. Surprisingly, even the crab cakes exceeded my expectations, and I’ve had my fair share of them!

seafood pasta from ROOST

The hospitality of the staff at ROOST was top-notch. They were attentive and always happy to provide answers to any inquiries we had about the food. I highly recommend ROOST to anyone in search of a satisfying meal in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the burnt cabbage, prawn toast, squid, and roast chicken. However, it’s worth noting that the prices are on the higher side. While the menu may not give the impression, the portion sizes are relatively small. So, you may need to order multiple dishes to feel fully satisfied. Our bill for lunch, which included 3 adults and 1 toddler, exceeded RM400, and we didn’t even order any alcoholic beverages. The ambiance was decent, although it did feel a bit warm during lunchtime.

grilled squid from ROOST

One thing to mention is that none of the staff members wore facial masks. While I understand that it’s no longer mandatory, it would have been reassuring to see them voluntarily wearing masks, especially since they handle food.

Although the food menu options may be somewhat limited, it’s clear that this approach allows them to maintain high standards for each dish they serve. I will definitely revisit ROOST in the future for another remarkable dining experience.

9. The Social @ Bangsar

The Social @ Bangsar offers a pleasant ambience that sets the mood just right. To my surprise, the Peking duck was absolutely superb, especially when combined with the peppercorn chili oil. Pairing it with the StrongBow cider was simply marvelous.

I highly recommend trying the oriental platter, Pad Thai, and nachos. However, I must caution against ordering mixed drinks from the bar, as they tend to serve smaller portions and don’t fill the glass to the top. We had to request the bar staff to serve the coke, rum, and ice cubes separately so that we could mix them ourselves to ensure the quantities were correct. Despite this, the bar staff was attentive and the overall experience was enjoyable. The music was at a reasonable volume, allowing for conversations without strain.

fish in batter The Social

We started our meal with the Otak spring rolls, which were excellent, followed by the crispy duck, which was equally delightful. While the wine list was limited, the Pinot Grigio we chose was perfectly drinkable and the beer was served ice-cold. Overall, the prices were reasonable, offering good value for the quality of food and drinks.

nice pizza from The Social

The Social @ Bangsar is a fantastic place for those seeking a lively nightlife experience. They offer a wide selection of alcohol, and the prices are decent. The food was great, and I particularly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere created by the music. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with friends after a long day at work. Here, you can forget about the outside world and indulge in a memorable dining experience.

nachos and cheese The Social

Located in the heart of Bangsar’s lively nightspot, The Social @ Bangsar is always packed, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. However, it remains busy on most other nights as well. While the food may be average, the drinks certainly make up for it. The presence of a pool table adds to the entertainment factor, and the service is attentive. The availability of both outdoor and indoor seating is a plus, and the toilets are adequate. Keep in mind that the prices can be on the expensive side, but the overall enjoyment makes it worthwhile.

10. W1 Dining & Cocktails

W1 Dining & Cocktails bangsar restaurant

On a cool Friday night, we managed to secure a table outside at W1 Dining & Cocktails. The atmosphere was light and enjoyable, creating a pleasant dining experience.

To start off, we ordered drinks and some light snacks. The Asari clams with bread were simply amazing, and the Masala chicken skewers were equally delightful. We were so impressed with the clams that we had to indulge in a second serving of bread.

meat platter W1 Dining & Cocktails

For our main courses, we opted for the chicken on a brick and duck noodles. The chicken was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. The duck noodles were also quite satisfying.

sangria W1 Dining & Cocktails

To top it off, we couldn’t resist trying the chocolate truffles. I must admit, I didn’t have high expectations for the food here, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I would definitely recommend it. The restaurant boasts lovely “London” decorations on the walls and a cozy dining area.

clams and bread W1 Dining & Cocktails

We arrived late for supper on a quiet Wednesday night, and the staff served us exceptionally well. The service was friendly and vibrant, and they even treated the ladies with complimentary wine.

creamy skewers W1 Dining & Cocktails

Although the food took a bit longer to arrive, possibly due to the proximity to closing time, it was well worth the wait. The portions were generous, and the taste was absolutely amazing. I was pleasantly shocked by the tenderness and flavor of the chicken. Additionally, the Mac and cheese had a surprising spicy kick to it. This place is ideal for hanging out with friends, offering a combination of delicious food and drinks. The service was friendly and efficient, creating a welcoming atmosphere. It’s truly the best hangout spot in Bangsar.

For those seeking vegetarian options, W1 Dining & Cocktails does have choices available, such as grilled broccoli, grilled carrot, corn, and vegetarian pasta.

11. Mizu Bistro Bangsar

instagrammable wall in Mizu Bistro Bangsar

If you’re seeking a quieter cafe similar to Alexis or VCR, Mizu Bistro in Bangsar is worth a visit. Surprisingly, there was hardly a crowd during lunch hour, even with a lunch set menu available for under RM 30. The service staff here are accommodating and attentive, providing excellent service. The food tasted like it was made with quality ingredients, although the egg in the egg sandwich was a bit cold and salty.

loaded burger from Mizu Bistro Bangsar

The relaxed vibe of the place allowed us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The counter offers a limited selection of pastries. Overall, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I’ve become a regular patron of Mizu after trying their sandwiches, such as the chicken katsu sando with fries, egg sando with fries, and chicken teriyaki. The portions are generous and the flavors are delightful. The ambience of the cafe is cozy.

grilled cauliflower at Mizu Bistro Bangsar

One of the advantages of Mizu Bistro is that it’s less crowded, but finding a parking spot in the Telawi area can be challenging. My best recommendation is to park inside Bangsar Village and take a short walk to the cafe.

fish dish at Mizu Bistro Bangsar

The furnishing of the cafe is simple and has a slight rustic touch. The menu offers decent options for breakfast in Bangsar and brunch. However, what truly surprised us was the portion size. You’ll definitely leave with a satisfied and content stomach.

During our visit, we enjoyed the classic avo toast with a perfectly poached egg, aglio olio, grilled salmon yuzu salad, and finished off with the delightful turamisu French toast.

12. Alexis Bistro @ Bangsar

mini lobster pasta Alexis Bistro

Alexis has always been one of my favorite chill-out spots. The ambience, staff, and food are consistently excellent across all their outlets. Even though the Bangsar outlet is small, it never feels cramped. The portions of their dishes are quite generous, so I usually just order a main meal and a drink. If you plan on ordering a starter and a main, unless you have a big appetite, you might struggle to finish them.

fruit cake from Alexis Bistro

One thing that’s always a must-order for me is their tiramisu. I remember when they used to provide the sauce for free, but now they charge for it. Nevertheless, it’s still worth getting because the tartness of the sauce perfectly balances the sweetness of the cake. During my recent visit, I opted for the Vietnamese beef noodle and a cup of tea. I noticed that they have made some changes to the beef noodle dish. While the taste is still nice, the meat cuts are not the same, and the slices are smaller and tougher. It’s not as good as it used to be, but the soup is still enjoyable.

clam pasta from alexis

Overall, Alexis is a great place with fantastic cakes. I highly recommend trying their pavlova, as it is superbly delicious. I would also like to express my gratitude to Mr. Edmon, a friendly and attentive waiter who provided excellent service throughout our visit.

ribs and potatoes from Alexis Bistro Bangsar restaurant

On another occasion, I visited Alexis to enjoy a peaceful moment with a book. The waiters were friendly, and the pavlova on their menu was a delightful surprise. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The only downside was having to pay for water, but aside from that, it’s a wonderful place to visit whether you’re alone or with friends or loved ones.

13. The X Bangsar

The X Bangsar restaurant

I had a truly wonderful experience at The X Bangsar. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was particularly impressed by the kind and attentive service provided by our waitress, Ms. Mannu. Despite the menu lacking photos, Ms. Mannu went above and beyond by using her phone to show us Google photos of the dishes, ensuring that we made informed choices.

She also provided excellent recommendations and, with the help of another staff member, ensured that our overall dining experience was enjoyable. On top of that, I was thrilled to discover that I found a perfect parking spot right in front of the restaurant, making it even more convenient for us. We were thoroughly satisfied with the service, food quality, and parking situation, and we definitely plan to visit again in the future.

salad from The X Bangsar restaurant

We wanted to catch up with friends in the Bangsar area and chose The X for dining and drinks. I really liked the European-style decor and the table setup was pristine and classy.

I decided to try their spicy fried chicken burger with onion rings. However, for the price of RM32, I must say that there are more refined burger restaurants available. While the chicken was tender, it lacked the juicy and spicy flavor I was hoping for. The onion rings also fell short in terms of crispiness, not even matching the saltiness of A&W’s version.

As for the cocktails, they weren’t particularly noteworthy, but the beers were worth it, especially considering the generous serving size. The happy hour from 4 to 8pm is definitely more worth attending.

mini burger from The X Bangsar

The ambience of The X is perfect for holding decent conversations, as it caters to families and offers non-smoking seating indoors.

If you’re not too picky about the food and drinks, this place is good for catching up with friends. The waitress was very accommodating, and it’s a nice spot to chill and enjoy a pleasant dinner with drinks. They have a cocktail promotion until 8pm, where you can get three drinks that you can enjoy throughout the night. The noise level is also manageable.

tortilla and chips from The X Bangsar

The food we had, from the fried rice to the steak, was delicious, although the menu choices are somewhat limited. The price is on the higher end, but it’s definitely worth it. We will definitely be returning in the future.

14. Portofino Italian Restaurant Bangsar Lucky Garden

simple steak Portofino Italian Restaurant Bangsar Lucky Garden bangsar

Portofino Italian Restaurant in Bangsar offers an authentic and delicious Italian dining experience with a comfortable and lovely ambience. The highlight of the menu is definitely the squid ink seafood spaghetti, which stands out from any other spaghetti dishes I’ve ever tried. It’s a unique and delightful taste sensation. The devil’s pizza with beef and cheese was absolutely awesome! It was loaded with so much cheese that I couldn’t help but feel delighted. The tiramisu was also great, and I couldn’t resist devouring it in just a few mouthfuls. However, it’s worth noting that they charge for water, which was a bit disappointing.

beef shank Portofino Italian Restaurant Bangsar Lucky Garden

The staff at Portofino Italian Restaurant are polite and nice, and I particularly enjoyed the large portrait of Portofino town, which added a lovely touch to the ambience. I visited on a weekday afternoon, and as the lunchtime crowd slowly filled the restaurant, it created a lively atmosphere. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

There are also plenty of vegetarian options available. We tried the mushroom soup, Sicilian arancini, spinach ravioli, buffalo cheese pizza, and tiramisu.

seafood pasta served at Portofino Italian Restaurant Bangsar Lucky Garden

The mushroom soup was quite tasty, with a distinct mushroom flavor that really shines through. I would rate it 4/5.

The Sicilian arancini was a standout dish, with a unique and delicious combination of flavors and textures. The rice, mushroom, and cheese worked perfectly together. I highly recommend trying it, even though it may be on the pricier side. I would rate it 5/5.

The buffalo cheese pizza could have been improved with more vegetables and slightly more cheese. The pizza crust was a bit tough and hard to chew, but the buffalo cheese was nice. I would rate it 3/5.

The spinach ravioli had a nice balance of spinach flavor, but the portion size was a bit small and there was a slight starchy taste. I would rate it 4/5.

The tiramisu was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted! I highly recommend giving it a try. I would rate it 5/5.

squid ink pasta Portofino Italian Restaurant Bangsar Lucky Garden

Overall, the food at Portofino Italian Restaurant was well-balanced and not overly salty or sweet, setting it apart from some other Italian restaurants. The service was good, with friendly and attentive waiters. I loved the ambience and decor, particularly the lovely Christmas decorations and music. The waitress was really attentive, and the recommended white wine was pleasant. While the prices may be on the higher side, as is common for Italian restaurants, the overall dining experience was worth it.

15. WTF Restaurant

WTF Restaurant ambiance

I recently had the chance to dine at WTF Restaurant, a vegetarian establishment that prides itself on maintaining authenticity. I would rate the taste of their dishes a solid 7/10, considering the limited options available. Despite visiting during rush hours, the service was a bit slow, but I still give the overall experience an 8/10 when compared to other Indian restaurants.

Upon the recommendation of a good friend, we chose this place for our dinner meet-up and were all satisfied with the decision. It’s a perfect spot for vegetarians, vegans, and those seeking gluten-free options. The dishes were served steaming hot, and the aromatic blend of spices stimulated our appetites. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully categorized, making it enjoyable to explore. The servers were patient and took the time to explain each dish, adding to the pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant itself is spacious and airy, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass panels that allow ample natural light to brighten the venue. Parking is convenient, with spots available right outside the restaurant, although availability may vary during peak hours.

A noteworthy aspect of WTF Restaurant is its wide range of vegetarian options. Whether you follow a vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diet, you’ll find plenty of choices on the menu to suit your preferences.

vegetarian nasi lemak WTF Restaurant bangsar

Having finally checked off this restaurant from my to-visit list, we eagerly ordered a variety of dishes including palak paneer, cheesy roasted broccoli, biryani, puri, and garlic butter naan. All of them were absolutely delicious.

While the quality of the food impressed me, I must mention that the prices, particularly for the drinks, are on the higher side. For example, a small cup of chai tea is priced at RM10, which seemed a bit steep.

Despite this pricing concern, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at WTF Restaurant. In fact, I look forward to revisiting in the future to further explore their extensive menu and indulge in more of their delectable offerings.

16. The Beato Dry Aged Steakhouse

soup from The Beato Dry Aged Steakhouse bangsar restaurant

The Beato Dry Aged Steakhouse offers a perfect setting with its nice and cozy ambiance. I’ve been a regular patron for years, and the exceptional quality of their steaks has been consistently maintained. The staff is friendly and accommodating, which adds to the overall experience.

This restaurant truly excels in cooking steaks professionally. They pay meticulous attention to every detail in order to serve the best steak to their customers. The waitstaff is well-mannered and patiently explains each dish from the menu, even though there are no pictures. They have excellent knowledge of which wines pair best with your steak, and they won’t push you to buy the most expensive or profitable option. The restaurant’s management is well-implemented, ensuring that every staff member puts in 200% effort to provide perfect satisfaction to each customer. I highly recommend this restaurant in KL.

The restaurant has a very antique and tasteful ambiance, with designer-picked sofas and furniture, impressive interior design, and impeccably clean toilets. My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience there, and we will definitely visit again the next time we’re in KL. The service was excellent, and the waiter went above and beyond to recommend the best steak choice based on my preferences. I opted for a 310g portion, which was just the right amount, leaving me satisfied but not overly full.

The steak itself was flavorful and tender. The fish of the day (salmon) was also enjoyable. Complimentary bread was a nice touch, and the salad portion was generously sized. I highly recommend trying their homemade juice as well. I look forward to returning to The Beato Dry Aged Steakhouse in the future.

17. Nature's Vegetarian Restaurant

ambiance inside Nature's Vegetarian Restaurant

With its establishment in 2005, Nature’s Vegetarian Restaurant stands out from the rest with its exceptional offerings. As you step inside, you’re greeted by the impressive Fu Lu Shou statues lining one side of the wall in the main dining area, along with shelves filled with gourmet Chinese teas. The Chinese motifs throughout the restaurant add to its unique charm.

Parking can be a challenge in the vicinity, so it’s easier to park at Bangsar Village and take a short walk to the restaurant.

Although I missed out on the vegetarian dim sum served during breakfast, I had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful lunch. The highlight was a dish featuring three types of mock meat, accompanied by a flavorful nonya Assam fish and stir-fried broccoli with lion mane mushroom. All three dishes were incredibly delicious, with the mock meat being so realistic that it was hard to distinguish it from real meat.

For dessert, I opted for the sweet peanut cream, which, though tasty, was a bit too sweet for my personal preference.

While the prices may be slightly higher, I felt that the quality of the food justified the cost, and I intend to return soon to try their dim sum. Nature’s Vegetarian Restaurant is one of those places worth traveling long distances for. After multiple visits, we can confidently say that it offers one of the best vegetarian dim sum experiences, and we thoroughly enjoy the variety and selection available. Their vegetarian chee cheong fun and dim sum are restaurant-quality and hard to come by elsewhere. Don’t forget to order their famous KL fried noodles during lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!

18. Coley

nice light and seating inside Coley

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Coley, a renowned bar in KL and one of the top 50 bars in Asia! The atmosphere was spot-on, providing that authentic bar ambiance with a friendly neighborhood twist. What made it even more special was that every drink featured Southeast Asian ingredients like pandan and jackfruit, capturing the essence of the region!

The local cocktails were amazing, and my personal favorite so far is the jambu cocktail, although the absinthe melon cocktail was also fantastic.

To my surprise, the food at Coley was really good too. I decided to try their crab burger and it didn’t disappoint.

The music selection was just right, and the place had a great decor that added to the overall experience. Just be mindful of the lamp on your way out to avoid any mishaps.

Oh, and did I mention that they also offer cocktail delivery? It’s definitely something worth considering.

Coley is a charming speakeasy with a down-to-earth and beautifully designed ambiance. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the drinks crafted by their guest bartenders were exceptional. Although I didn’t have the chance to try the food, it looked amazing, and the overall ambience was delightful. I would certainly visit again without hesitation.

While passing by this hidden gem in Bangsar, I had the pleasure of enjoying their selection of drinks in the cozy setting. We tried both mocktails and cocktails, and I personally ordered the Hanky Spanky, which I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a clear and fruity drink.

The atmosphere at Coley was warm and inviting, and the staff were extremely friendly. The service was excellent. They offered a fascinating variety of cocktails, with my favorite being the Spiced Tequila & Apple. They also had a small selection of small plates, and the Steak Freaks and Hash Dreams were the perfect accompaniments to our drinks.
