Best Bangsar Food

1. Southern Rock Seafood

scallop and caviar from Southern Rock Seafood in bangsar

A few years ago, I had the Bangsar food here at Southern Rock Seafood, but it was a delivery order. Yesterday, I booked a place there to celebrate hubby’s birthday. Parking was a bit difficult, but we managed to find a space just opposite a school, a few meters away from the restaurant. If you’re going, park there as there are plenty of spaces.

For our meal, we ordered a variety of dishes including Irish Premium oysters, fruits de mer, fish n chips, lemon sole, angel hair aglio olio seafood, cinderella, mocha, latte, and fruit punch. We initially wanted the grill fish tasting board, but they had run out of two types of fish, so we opted for the delicious lemon sole instead. Everything was fresh and delightful, especially the oysters, fruits de mer, and cinderella.

The service was excellent, which may be attributed to the fact that there were only five of us and another group of four people. After dinner, they brought out the cake we had bought and played a birthday song, singing along with us. We will definitely come again! Thank you for making it a memorable birthday. The real stars of the show were undoubtedly the oysters! I came here to satisfy my oyster cravings, and after devouring two dozen Irish oysters, my craving was fully satisfied.

The Laksa mussel is simply the best. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and enjoyed them with some nice wine to complement the seafood flavors. All the menu items were suggested by their manager, and I have no regrets at all. The seafood was fresh, the service was top-notch, and the food tasted superb. For those who don’t eat seafood, they also serve steak and pasta. Oh, and you must try their pasta too.

The prices are reasonable, and the dining area offers a chill and enjoyable environment if you want to have drinks with your friends after dinner. The Bangsar food quality here is excellent, although the prices are slightly higher, but you truly get what you pay for in terms of quality. The ambience is quite good as well, making it a nice place to bring your date for a weekend or weekend’s eve dinner. And, of course, the oysters steal the show! You can never go wrong with the oysters here. They are smaller but more flavorful compared to the tasteless, oversized oysters you find in Thailand.

2. OpenHouse

satay from OpenHouse bangsar

OpenHouse was a place I visited before they moved out. The Bangsar food, considering the location and ambiance, was truly excellent, making it a wonderful dining spot. I particularly enjoyed the umai, which was not only quite good but also highly recommended.

The staff members at OpenHouse were incredibly helpful, providing detailed explanations of the different dishes and offering valuable recommendations. Their extensive knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for the Bangsar food pleasantly surprised me.

ice cream and churros from OpenHouse bangsar food

I must emphasize that the traditional local cuisine at OpenHouse exceeded my expectations. I anticipated it to be good, but it went far beyond that. Without a doubt, it has become my favorite place for indulging in fancy Malay food. I love almost all the dishes, and the heavenly rice is a standout! The waiters are friendly and attentive, and the ambience is delightful, providing a private and enjoyable atmosphere. It is definitely worth the price.

One dish that stood out was the well-grilled chicken satay served with ketupat lemak and peanut sauce, offering a smoky and aromatic char. The lemak of the chicken jeruk kemaman perfectly complemented the spices, while the fragrant rendang and tender, juicy duck added to the delightful experience. The kitchen also prepared a special vegetable stir-fry, which was equally outstanding. Another highlight was the nasi kulim, a visually appealing and delectable sticky rice steamed in a banana leaf. Overall, the experience was fun, with a nice ambience and delicious Bangsar food. I particularly appreciate the attentive waitress, Yati, who explained the dishes in detail.

If you have the opportunity to try the waris negara menu, you’ll get to experience rare local ingredients and cooking methods. However, please be mindful that the portion size of each item is small, allowing you to sample a bit of everything. As a small eater, we opted for the waris negara menu and added a Johor laksa, which was just the right amount for my boyfriend and me. It was fascinating to try various types of sambal, and Yati patiently explained the differences, even showcasing the buah kulim.

3. Chopsticks by Muhammad Oon @ Bangsar

noodle from chopsticks

At Chopsticks by Muhammad Oon, you’ll find an array of scrumptious Chinese cuisines. I have ordered from here for grab several times due to their consistently perfect taste, and finally, I had the opportunity to visit in person. To my delight, the interior and cleanliness of the place exceeded my expectations, and the Bangsar food was as great as always. If possible, I would love to try their entire menu. It was a pleasant surprise to discover a Halal Chinese restaurant in this area, offering delicious and affordable Bangsar food.

yam ring from Chopsticks bangsar

During my visit with a colleague, we ordered a variety of dishes, including fried kueh teow, balacan fried rice, fried glass noodles, ginger chicken rice, and sweet and sour chicken rice, all part of the set lunch that came with a drink, costing around RM15. It is definitely a place I would return to. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy, but please note that if there is a large crowd, you might have to wait longer for your food once you’ve placed your order.

tofu dish from Chopsticks

I absolutely love the food at Chopsticks. The portions are generous (hopefully they maintain that), and the taste is outstanding, even though it is a Halal establishment. The flavors are on par with non-Halal Chinese food. Usually, the food arrives quickly when the crowd is minimal, but if it gets busy, the service can be a bit slow. The option for direct payment using an app is incredibly convenient, eliminating the need to go to the counter and making it easy to split bills or pay individually.

japanese tofu Chopsticks bangsar

I also had the opportunity to sample the Kam Heong Chicken and Butter Chicken dishes, which were quite good in terms of taste and portion size, considering their price. However, the standout item that I highly recommend ordering during your visit is their superb fried kuey teow.

4. Gravybaby Bangsar

Gravybaby Bangsar food

Gravybaby Bangsar, with its American coffee parlour vibe, offers plenty of tables for seating. The Bangsar food is good, but it’s worth noting that the portion sizes are small considering the prices. It’s a great spot for larger groups, as there is a slightly private area available. However, parking can be a challenge due to the limited availability in the open car park across the street.

korean chicken wings from Gravybaby Bangsar

The friendly waiters at Gravybaby Bangsar serve guests with joy and laughter. This restaurant is renowned for its pies and cocktails. During our visit with a group of 8, we indulged in a wide variety of dishes. Some of our favorites included the strawberry cheesecake, nachos, steak and wild mushroom pie, and buffalo wings. The extensive menu made it difficult for us to choose, as every item was elaborately described and presented with enticing photos.

arugula on pizza at Gravybaby Bangsar

The overall ambience of the restaurant is pleasant, and the Bangsar food is fresh and worth the price. You’ll find a diverse range of options on the menu, including pasta, pizza, fries, and delectable desserts.

The ambience at Gravybaby Bangsar is great, and the Bangsar food is undeniably delicious. The fajitas left us amazed, and even though we were already full, my wife couldn’t resist finishing them. We also loved the indulgent brownie shake and the flavorful turkey bacon sandwich. It’s definitely a place worth visiting again.

pies and fries from Gravybaby Bangsar

While the chicken wings, pizza, and finger food are enjoyable, the specialty of the restaurant lies in their pies. The outdoor atmosphere and environment are pleasant, and there is a roof that can be closed in case of rain. However, it’s worth noting that during heavy rain, water may leak through the sides of the roof, affecting the overall experience.

5. Botanica+Co at Alila Bangsar

loaded pizza from Botanica+Co at Alila Bangsar

The churros at Botanica+Co in Alila Bangsar were absolutely superb! The Caesar salad was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tuscan pizza. However, the carbonara was just average. The crab linguini, while okay, didn’t really stand out. On the bright side, the watermelon lychee mint ice blended drink was delicious. The service was top-notch, with super friendly waiters and waitresses. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Botanica+Co at Alila Bangsar is a very pleasant place to meet friends. The Bangsar food is excellent, and the service is friendly and efficient. One of my all-time favorite pasta dishes is the duck and portobello mushroom fettuccini served here. The only downside was that our starter arrived after our mains.

tom yum from Botanica+Co

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion size of the Bangsar food at Botanica+Co. I had the club sandwich for dinner and the fajita for lunch the next day, and both were fantastic. The generous portion sizes make it a great value for money. If I’m in the area, I will definitely visit again.

club sandwich from Botanica+Co

Despite my initial disappointment that they don’t serve all-day breakfast in Bangsar, I was delighted with the delicious and generously sized chicken club sandwich at Botanica+Co. The accompanying spicy french fries had a unique and flavorful taste. It was hands down the best club sandwich I’ve had in KL. The fruit smoothies were refreshing, and the coffee latte was strong, just the way I like it.

fish and chips at Botanica+Co at Alila Bangsar

The fast service and friendly, attentive staff left a positive impression. The restaurant has a nice and modern ambiance, with a reasonable level of elegance. The Bangsar food was decent, with tasty fish and chips and a juicy wagyu beef burger. The price range for dishes is around 30-50 per person, but the portion sizes are quite generous. You could easily share one dish between two people if you’re not too hungry. Overall, it’s a great spot to hang out, relax, and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner.

6. Haba Bar & Restaurant

large pizza from Haba Bar & Restaurant bangsar

Haba Bar & Restaurant is a dark and moody restaurant/bar that specializes in piping hot freshly grilled yakiniku.

With its slightly dark and moody interior, Haba Bar & Restaurant feels more like a bar than a restaurant. It’s known for serving one of the best and most affordable freshly grilled yakiniku in KL.

We decided to try the eggplant and mushroom yakitori, and both were delicious and fresh. The eggplant had a charred exterior and a creamy interior, which I really enjoyed.

fried breaded meats from Haba Bar & Restaurant

Next up was the smoked duck yakitori. It had a smoky flavor and was tender, although we found it slightly salty for our taste. The chicken with leek yakitori came afterward, and it was the highlight of the evening for us. The contrasting textures between the chicken and leek were delightful.

During our visit, we were the only customers, so we hope more people will dine here in the future. Parking can be tricky, so we recommend taking the LRT as the restaurant is within walking distance from Bangsar station. It’s a fantastic place to hang out with friends, a date, or your spouse. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there are some off-menu experiences available as well.

bangsar food yakitori from Haba Bar & Restaurant

The Bangsar food at Haba Bar & Restaurant was amazing. We highly recommend trying the smoked duck, Australian rib eye, chicken 69, salmon over garlic fried rice, and beef rice. The ambiance, Bangsar food, and drinks make it a must-visit spot. The owner even took the time to stop by our table for a quick chat. If you’re an art lover, you’ll appreciate the wall art paintings that add to the ambiance. The food tasted great, but if you’re not a fan of spiciness, be sure to request milder flavors. The grill gizzard could have been softer, as it felt a bit tough to bite into. The liver could have been improved with some toasting or frying.

meat and rice at Haba Bar & Restaurant

Haba Bar & Restaurant is an amazing place. The cocktails are unique and smooth, and the music and vibe create a chilled-out atmosphere. It’s perfect for a date night or gathering with friends. The staff members are awesome, and I must mention that the Agwa drink was the highlight of the night and is definitely worth trying!

7. Chez Gaston by rendez-vous

beef bourguignon from Chez Gaston

Chez Gaston by Rendez-vous is a hidden gem if you’re looking for good quality French cuisine at an affordable price in town. While it may not be a high-end French restaurant, the Bangsar food here is excellent, and the prices are reasonable and affordable. The location is a bit hidden, tucked away at a corner of a shoplot, and parking can be challenging and inconvenient. The restaurant has a simple ambiance, so there’s no need to dress up. Just come in casual or smart casual attire and enjoy the Bangsar food. The lunch set meal is particularly reasonable, priced at RM40++ for a 3-course meal.

During my visit, I ordered the chicken liver pate, baked fish on ratatouille, and creme brulee. We also shared a cheese platter. I discovered this restaurant with my family and partner on one of the weekends, and we’ve been wanting to come back again ever since. The soups, especially the onion soup, are amazing, although the portions are small, they are incredibly delectable and satisfying. The cheese platter offered a delightful mix of soft and hard cheeses, perfect for those who enjoy something more pungent.

duck confit from Chez Gaston bangsar food

On this visit, I tried the Argentina Thin Skirt Steak, which was my first time having steak. It was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt, hitting all the right spots without feeling overly indulgent.

I also highly recommend their Salade De Brie, which features bacon and Brie cheese drizzled with honey mustard. It’s a delightful combination of flavors that you shouldn’t miss.

custard from Chez Gaston

To complement the delicious Bangsar food, Chez Gaston offers a great selection of wine, and the staff provides excellent service etiquette. We will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem in the city for more French cuisine. The escargots and terrine are highly recommended, and the lamb leg, which was tender, along with the cassoulet, were also delightful choices. The customer service is attentive and friendly, and the restaurant is even dog-friendly. While parking may be a bit challenging, the boss is kind enough to come out and guide customers, providing a warm welcome and excellent service.

bouillabaisse from Chez Gaston

During our visit, my sister and I shared the Australian Lamb leg and the Escargots. The Escargots were served without shells, but the aroma and the garlic x olive oil taste were absolutely delightful. The lamb was thinly sliced and incredibly tender, and the mashed potatoes were simply amazing.

Chez Gaston by Rendez-vous is a must-visit for French cuisine lovers. The food, service, and ambiance make it a memorable dining experience.

8. The Lankan Crabs

The Lankan Crabs bangsar food

The Lankan Crabs offer some of the best crab dishes I’ve ever had, especially their garlic butter crab. The balance of saltiness and richness in the sauce is perfect, and I could easily eat it on its own. However, everything else I ordered was also amazing. I tried the mutton bone gearbox, fried rice, Negombo curry crabs, mango lassi, and appam dessert. The appam dessert is particularly unique and delicious. The cozy environment with traditional details and plants adds to the overall experience.

biryani rice from The Lankan Crabs bangsar

From the moment we entered until we left, the service was excellent. The staff consistently checked on us and promptly replaced our shell-filled plates. Their recommendations for Bangsar food were also spot on. The crabs were of good size, and we loved the garlic butter prawns so much that we ordered them twice. It was truly a feast worth traveling 350km for. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious crab, especially the signature Negombo flavor, and the hospitality provided.

arancini from The Lankan Crabs

The Sri Lankan beer also brought back nostalgic memories for those who have been to the country. The vegetarian cutlets were tasty as well. While gloves were provided for those who didn’t want to get their hands dirty, I would personally recommend eating with bare hands for the best experience. The service was great, and the Lankan dishes were top-notch.

We had an issue with the pepper crab, as it wasn’t very fresh. After having two pieces, we informed the manager, and he insisted on replacing the entire serving. We were impressed by the level of service and thoroughly enjoyed the fresh crabs in the new serving.

parotta from The Lankan Crabs bangsar food

The Varuval squid and curry prawns were a bit too spicy for our taste, but they were still flavorful.

Regarding the appam, it would be even better if it was served with some sweetened milk santan to enhance the flavors.

One suggestion for the owner is to make physical menus available, as the Wi-Fi in the area was unreliable. Having to navigate the E-menu on our phones during our first visit, especially with low lighting, was a bit challenging.

9. Entier French Dining

escargot bowl from Entier French Dining

Entier French Dining provided us with a fantastic culinary experience. We opted for the weekend set lunch and decided to add two sharing tapas. Without a doubt, every meal we had was absolutely amazing. The Bangsar food was not only delicious but also unique and truly memorable. Throughout our meal, the staff remained attentive and provided excellent service.

What truly stands out about Entier is their commitment to a nose-to-tail culinary approach and their dedication to the principles of people, plate, and the planet. They firmly believe that a good dish is more than just the best cuts of meat, and they prioritize the integrity of their ingredients. Their menu is a testament to their constant pursuit of high-quality French cuisine, with a focus on incorporating Malaysian and regional influences.

The ambiance at Entier was relaxed and communal, a departure from the typical formal setting with white tablecloths. It was refreshing to dine in a space that prioritized both the Bangsar food and creating a warm atmosphere.

steak served at Entier French Dining

I have visited Entier twice, and both experiences exceeded my expectations for a fine dining restaurant. The first visit was for dinner, and the second visit was for lunch. I must say that their set weekday lunch menu is definitely worth the price. During my most recent visit, the lunch was priced at RM158nett, and considering the quality of the Bangsar food and the stunning view, I couldn’t ask for more. I highly recommend making reservations at least 2 or 3 weeks in advance if you want a table with a window seat to enjoy the breathtaking view.

The Bangsar food at Entier was served with exceptional quality ingredients, and the presentation was truly impressive. I particularly enjoyed the ceviche as a starter, the lobster pasta for the main course, and the golden kiwi for dessert.

sourdough from Entier French Dining bangsar

In terms of service, there is still room for improvement. While the staff was friendly, they were not as alert and attentive as one would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Some of the staff members did not provide thorough explanations of the dishes they served, indicating a potential lack of training and knowledge. However, this did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

It was my first experience with French dining, and it was absolutely great and enjoyable. The restaurant provides a nice environment, and there are seat selections available near the windows for a view of the city. The staff members were polite and friendly. The set lunch menu offers 2 or 3 courses, and the food tasted delicious. I highly recommend adding the corn bread with kombu butter. I suggest making a reservation in advance to secure a seat.

classy red velvet cake Entier French Dining

During my trip, I wanted to indulge in a sophisticated dining experience with my boyfriend, and we chose Entier as our restaurant of choice. The food was delicious, especially the corn bread with kombu butter. The jasper grilled cauli, beetroot, and black cod were absolutely mind-blowing. As a vegetarian, I had limited options for mains, but the side dishes were delightful. The desserts and wine selection were also impressive. The only downside was that the mixed vegetables and pasta didn’t meet our expectations in terms of taste. Overall, we had a great experience. We loved the interior of the dining space, and the waiters and waitresses were attentive and ensured we had a memorable time.

10. Lisette's Café & Bakery @ Bangsar

fruit waffle from Lisette's Café & Bakery

Lisette’s Café & Bakery @ Bangsar deserves its 5-star rating for its exceptional Bangsar food and pastry quality. The deliciousness of the food is what keeps me coming back as a regular customer.

The breakfast dishes at Lisette’s are outstanding, and they also excel in their selection of mains and pastas.

When it comes to their baked goods, such as scones, tarts, pies, croissants, and cakes, you can expect a wide variety and mostly delicious options.

The staff at Lisette’s are always polite and pleasant, providing a welcoming atmosphere.

egg benedict from Lisette's Café & Bakery

One advantage of dining at Lisette’s is that the Bangsar food is served fairly quickly, ensuring a satisfying dining experience.

Parking can be a bit challenging around the area. However, you can try finding open parking spaces or opt to park at UOA Bangsar, which may require a short walk but is a good opportunity to work up an appetite.

For those seeking vegetarian options, Lisette’s offers quite a number of meat-free alternatives on their menu.

Lisette's Café & Bakery salad bar

Regarding parking, as mentioned earlier, it can be a bit of a challenge. It is recommended to head to one of the open-air parking lots or consider parking at UOA Bangsar. It is advised not to park on the roadside without marked parking spots to avoid potential fines.

Lisette’s Café & Bakery offers great food, polite staff, and a lovely ambiance. We especially enjoy their buffet on Tuesdays, and we’re thrilled that it’s back now. However, the service has been somewhat lacking lately, possibly due to a shortage of staff during busy lunch hours. There have been instances where our water wasn’t refilled, and our plates weren’t cleared promptly.

black rice nasi lemak from lisette cafe bangsar food

Finding parking around the area can be challenging, so it’s best to avoid parking on the roadside. Instead, consider utilizing open parking spaces or opting for UOA Bangsar. Despite these minor inconveniences, the food at Lisette’s remains delicious. During our visit, we tried the pumpkin salad and the chicken waffles, accompanied by a cappuccino and an iced americano. The salad exceeded our expectations in terms of size and taste, with the beetroot sauce perfectly complementing the balsamic glaze and roasted pumpkin. We opted for an outdoor seat as the indoor area was packed, which is typical during lunchtime.

11. Kaiju Company

red seafood curry from Kaiju Company bangsar

Kaiju Company is a cool spot that offers Thai-Japanese fusion Bangsar food, and the blend of Thai flavors with Japanese cuisine is a delightful surprise. One standout dish is the tomtaiko pasta (tomyum + mentaiko), which packs a spicy umami punch.

More: Checkout the Japanese food in Bangsar! It’s the perfect spot to have a dinner!

For appetizers, the bite-sized tapas like umami bombs and salmon kabooms are a safe choice, as tartares of tuna and salmon are always crowd-pleasers. The portions are generous, providing more than just a bite, and the prices are reasonable.

fried shrimps from Kaiju Company

Unfortunately, the basil chic gyoza-lette falls short as the individual elements and flavors don’t impress and fail to come together harmoniously.

Overall, the Bangsar food at Kaiju Company is pretty good. However, during our visit, the service staff seemed a bit disinterested and lacked warmth. Nonetheless, it’s a unique Japanese Thai fusion restaurant that serves delicious and innovative dishes.

salad bowl from Kaiju Company in bangsar

Their appetizers and mains are all delicious, and the menu offers interesting combinations of ingredients. It’s a cool spot to enjoy creative fusion Asian dishes that are both tasty and affordable. I would definitely consider returning.

fried chicken from Kaiju Company bangsar food

Pairing the tom yum mentaiko seafood pasta with plenty of soju guarantees a good night of flavorful enjoyment.

The menu at Kaiju Company is truly interesting. I had the gyu-tan don and tom taiko linguine, and the taste was impressive and unique. It was a mind-blowing experience. Although it was slightly spicy for my liking, I found the use of e-wallet and credit cards convenient. Valet parking is available, but if you’re lucky, you can find roadside parking.

japanese ice cream from Kaiju Company bangsar

During our visit, the Bangsar food was alright, and we didn’t have to wait long for a seat, even during Sunday lunch hour. We enjoyed the Kaiju fried chicken, but the oyster omelette pancake was a miss for us. The salmon don, on the other hand, was simple yet enjoyable. The atmosphere was decent, and the service staff were attentive. When they accidentally cleared our table along with our face masks, they were accommodating and provided us with new face masks.

12. Sagar Restaurant

pot of curry from Sagar Restaurant bangsar

Sagar Restaurant is my go-to place whenever I crave good Indian Bangsar food. Whenever I visit, I always make sure to indulge in their Hara Bhara Kebab, Paneer Lababdar, and Lassi. If you’re in Kuala Lumpur and looking to try authentic North Indian cuisine, Sagar is a must-visit. However, the only area that could use some improvement is the ambience.

In Kuala Lumpur, it’s quite rare to find Rajasthani food, but Sagar has it on their menu. And let me tell you, it’s absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be ordering it again in the future.

grilled chicken from Sagar Restaurant

One standout dish is the Kadi Pokare. The curry flavor is amazing, especially when paired with the besan pakodas (fried chickpea flour balls). Another dish I tried was the Khichdi, which I chose as my “rice” to go along with the first dish. It’s comfort Bangsar food at its finest, with easily digestible rice and moong lentils cooked until they fall apart. These options, along with several others on the menu, are vegetarian.

butter chicken from Sagar Restaurant

Visiting Sagar Restaurant is truly an amazing experience. As soon as you step inside, you’re immersed in Indian culture. The restaurant’s ambiance is beautifully decorated, creating a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and provide awesome service. I highly recommend this place, and don’t forget to try their Manchurian dish!

cookie from Sagar Restaurant bangsar

The buffet dinner at Sagar Restaurant may not have had many options for vegetarians, but fear not, as their extensive à la carte menu offers plenty of choices. They even have a bar if you’re in the mood for a drink. The restrooms are well-maintained, and the tablecloths and cutlery are kept clean. Most importantly, the taste of the food is superb. The waiters are helpful and polite, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

13. Naj & Belle Bangsar

spaghetti from Naj & Belle Bangsar

At Naj & Belle Bangsar, the pasta is an absolute must-try, and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Each dish offers a generous portion size, and you can taste the quality of the premium ingredients in every bite. But let me tell you, the real showstoppers are the chocolate cake and exotic meringue. They are simply divine! Personally, I can’t resist indulging in two exotic meringues at once. The combination of cream, fruit, and meringue is an absolute delight for the taste buds.

matcha dessert from Naj & Belle Bangsar

On the other hand, I have to admit that the beverages at Naj & Belle Bangsar were a bit underwhelming. We ordered the iced chocolate and hot cappuccino, but unfortunately, the iced chocolate lacked the rich cacao flavor I was expecting and was instead dominated by the taste of condensed milk. As for the cappuccino, it was rather plain and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for.

strawberry watermelon cake from Naj & Belle Bangsar

During our visit for lunch on a weekend, the restaurant was packed, but luckily we managed to find a spot. The Bangsar food was excellent, especially the mushroom soup which my son loved. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even going the extra mile to take nice pictures for us. If you need a place to pray, there is a surau located in the basement that provides a comfortable space. With the great Bangsar food and hospitality we experienced, we will definitely be returning to Naj & Belle Bangsar.

western food in Naj & Belle Bangsar

My go-to orders are usually either the soft shell crab linguine or the tiger prawn with bird eye chili pasta. The service at Naj & Belle Bangsar is simply sublime, leaving no room for any complaints. And when it comes to desserts, the deconstructed pavlova is my absolute favorite. It’s the perfect spot to hang out with family and friends.

wholesome juice at Naj & Belle Bangsar

During our first visit, we tried the Squid Ink Spaghetti and Butter Chicken Burger, and both dishes were amazing. On our second visit, we ordered the Soft Shell Crab Linguine, Fish and Chips, and Roasted Pumpkin Linguini. Unfortunately, the Roasted Pumpkin Linguini turned out to be rather tasteless, so we requested some salt to enhance the flavor, and it was much better after that. I should also mention that they have a selection of cakes available, but the options may vary depending on the day you visit.

14. A Place Where - APW

A Place Where for bangsar food

Formerly known as Art Printing Works, APW (A Place Where) is a modern lifestyle destination that has transformed the building, which has been here since 1965, into its present form.

Parking at APW can be a nightmare, posing a challenge for many visitors. However, this vibrant space is bustling with events, an array of restaurants, cafes, and niche brand retail outlets that cater to the trendy and youthful consumers.

burger and fries from A Place Where - APW

One minor drawback is that many niche businesses seem to have a short lifespan here, resulting in a fast turnover. Despite this, I decided to visit for an early dessert at around 7:30 pm. APW Bangsar houses the café, along with various F&B outlets and event venues. You can choose to park within the premises or opt for street parking (although it may be illegal). Arriving early, there were plenty of small tables and seats available, providing a cozy atmosphere. If you prefer more privacy, you can also opt to sit outside and engage in a leisurely chat with your friend. However, as the evening progresses, the place tends to get crowded, with people flocking in from around 8-9 pm.

clam pasta from A Place Where

One highlight of the visit was the matcha burnt cheesecake, which I absolutely loved. The intense bitterness of the green tea flavor combined with the rich, thick texture of the cheesecake and the distinct taste of burnt cheese made for a delightful treat. A slice of this indulgence costs RM21, and it’s worth every penny. It’s worth noting that only card and Touch ‘n Go payments are currently accepted at the café.

The overall vibe of APW is fantastic, making it an ideal spot to hang out and capture some Instagram-worthy pictures. I highly recommend trying the hokiepokie ice cream, particularly the dark chocolate and sea salt flavor, which proved to be incredibly satisfying. Additionally, the cleanliness of the restroom was commendable.

APW is situated in a very cool area, boasting visually appealing stores, delightful Bangsar food and coffee establishments, and a relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place to meet up with friends. The architectural design itself is quite unique and definitely worth admiring.

15. Baba Low Bangsar Utama

variety of bangsar food from Baba Low Bangsar Utama

Serving as a commendable alternative to its Michelin-awarded sister shop, Anak Baba, this establishment caught my attention with its striking similarities in menu and taste, bringing back memories of my previous dining experience.

Among their offerings, the nasi lemak with fried chicken holds a special place in my heart. It strikes the perfect balance of flavor without being overly greasy. What sets it apart is the generous portion of vegetables, a unique touch compared to many other places. It’s worth noting that the chicken tends to have a firmer texture.

The prices here are reasonable, and the service is efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. If parking is a concern, opting for a GrabCar is a wise decision to avoid any potential parking hassles.

One standout dish is the nyonya laksa, with its delightful broth that leaves a lasting impression. The mee goreng is also noteworthy, reminiscent of mee hailam in taste. While the popiah is decent, it didn’t quite match my personal preference due to the inclusion of coriander. To round off the meal, the Nyonya Chendol makes for a satisfying dessert.

The café itself is clean and exudes a traditional kopitiam vibe. I ordered the Nyonya Laksa and Mee Siam, both of which were delicious. The Bangsar food arrived promptly, which was greatly appreciated, especially if you’re feeling hungry. Additionally, they offer nostalgic bottled sodas for those seeking a taste of tradition.

Overall, it’s a great place to satisfy your cravings for Nyonya cuisine, though parking can be a challenge. While the Nyonya fried chicken dipped in sweet sauce resembled Korean-style chicken, it was disappointing as the chilled chicken had a tough and tasteless texture. On a positive note, the Nyonya kuehs were delightful, and the Nyonya fried noodles offered a simple yet slightly sweet flavor profile.

16. Breakfast Thieves APW Bangsar

If you’re in the mood to try a unique twist on brunch items, this café makes for a delightful choice. The service here is exceptional, and I highly recommend ordering their Terry Benedict—it’s a dish you won’t want to miss. However, do note that it can get quite noisy, so it may not be the best place for extended conversations.

When it comes to breakfast and brunch spots, this place ranks high on my list of recommendations. The portions are incredibly generous, perfect for sharing in my opinion. The coffee is also excellent, and the overall environment is warm and inviting. Keep in mind that the café tends to get crowded due to its limited space, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Without a doubt, this café lives up to the hype. Despite its picturesque and rustic forest-like ambiance, it’s conveniently located in the city center—an unexpected gem. If you’re looking for an aesthetic spot for Instagram-worthy photos, this is the place to be.

Reservations aren’t available, so it’s a good idea to call and check in advance. I called ahead, and the staff promptly answered, which was incredibly helpful. The queue can be quite long, given the limited space, but they provide seating while you wait. I must commend the friendly hostess who attended to us that day. She frequently checked in on us and kept us informed about the queue. Her attentiveness was truly commendable.

The best part is that you don’t have to wait idly in line; you can explore and take great photos at the iconic spots nearby. When it’s your turn, she’ll call your name, so you don’t have to worry.

As for the Bangsar food and service, our dishes arrived promptly, piping hot. The staff were attentive and soft-spoken, providing excellent service throughout. Our group ordered the Jesse James Burger, The Hannibal Burger, Admiral Cheng-Ho Pasta, and Moo-Din Toasties. Every flavor was on point! Even though I’m not a fan of pickles and mustard, they perfectly complemented the Beef Burger. The portions were generous and left me feeling fully satisfied.

Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for hangouts. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. However, keep in mind that they have limited large tables, especially during the current SOP season, so it’s advisable to confirm with them before coming. I’m eagerly looking forward to returning to try their other dishes and simply enjoy a good time.

Huck’s Cafe is an ideal place for hosting a private party or small gathering with a special menu. Reservations are strictly required for this cozy bungalow venue, ensuring that the Bangsar food is prepared specifically for the occasion. The dishes are delicious, especially the desserts, and the portion sizes are humongous. It’s evident that the Bangsar food is cooked with pride, meeting a high standard of quality.

With its capacity to accommodate up to 15 people, the bungalow provides a cozy setting for your event. There is a wide variety of main dishes available, although some are fantastic while others are just okay. Nevertheless, it’s a place worth revisiting, especially if you plan to host a large crowd.

The food at Huck’s Cafe is not only delicious but also accompanied by great service. We were pleasantly surprised when Hucks himself came by and greeted us. It was my third time visiting, and each visit allowed me to try different recipes, adding to the overall enjoyment. We stayed until 11.30pm, making it a great place to catch up with friends and savor the dining experience.

At Huck’s Cafe, you can expect a private dining experience in a quiet bungalow. To ensure a seamless experience, it’s recommended to make a reservation and pre-order your main dishes. Additionally, a deposit for at least one person is required. The dining groups are spread across several nooks, providing privacy for each party.

My meal at Huck’s Cafe began with a complimentary bowl of thick and flavorful red bean tong sui, filled with dried longan. I had just a bit to avoid ruining my appetite for the main course. For the soup, I had a choice between pumpkin and mushroom, and I preferred the latter. The soup was accompanied by a refreshing pandan soda. The highlight of the meal was the Palermo Cheese Wrapped Lamb, featuring tender and non-gamey lamb perfectly complemented by the cheese.

My partner enjoyed the Rosti De Tudo, which was pretty good, especially when cooked to medium rare. It took us a while to digest all that red meat, but we were luckily served lemonade to refresh our palates. For dessert, we indulged in Tiramisu and ice cream mud cake, with the Tiramisu being the preferred choice. It paired well with a cup of kopi o kaw. The service was attentive, and the owner himself made his rounds, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Convenient parking is available within the compound.

In Bangsar, you’ll find a variety of drool-worthy food options that are sure to please your palate. Not only do these dishes boast delicious flavors, but they also come with visually appealing plating, impeccable service, and a wonderful selection of beverages.

Don’t forget to checkout more nice food to eat in these Bangsar cafes.

However, one aspect that can be challenging in Bangsar is parking. The narrow roads and limited parking bays can make finding a spot a bit of a nightmare. Thankfully, there are alternatives such as valet parking or choosing to park a little further away. Regardless of the parking situation, rest assured that the food in Bangsar is absolutely worth the effort and inconvenience.
